The new season of Landscapes, a review of music, theatre, dance, and meetings, promoted by the Benetton Foundation and almamusica433, kicks off. This is the third stage of a journey that began three years ago through places, stories, and cultures that invite us to discover new horizons of Man and art and to rediscover our bond with the landscape.
In this 2025 edition, Landscapes presents a programme of appointments that strikes a perfect balance between tradition and innovation and invites us to explore proposals by artists and composers with fresh eyes: from the music of Forqueray, presented by two of the most significant and award-winning performers of their generation, André Lislevand and Jadran Duncumb, accompanied by harpsichordist Paola Erdas; to the music of our time with works for violin and piano selected from the MEP – Music Ensemble Publishing catalogue, performed by Giada Visentin and Luca Chiandotto; through the voice of poetess Patrizia Valduga in dialogue with Daniele di Bonaventura’s bandoneon; and the dramatic force of Šostakovič’s Quartets with the Nous Quartet, which recently completed the recording of the complete quartets for Brilliant Classics.
The topics of the talks, which will involve climatologist Elisa Palazzi with populariser Federico Taddia, and Andrea Rinaldo, winner of the Stockholm Water Prize, known as the Nobel Prize for water, in dialogue with journalist Edoardo Vigna, will draw attention to crucial issues such as the landscape as a cultural, social and environmental heritage to be preserved and enhanced, and will find resonance in the words of Renzo Franzin, founder of the International Centre for the Civilisation of Water, which inspired Laura Boato’s theatre and dance show Il respiro delle acque (The Breath of Water).
Enriching the programme is the journey through the Bible proposed by journalist Aldo Cazzullo and actor and writer Moni Ovadia.
The big news this year is a section entirely dedicated to families, for an even more inclusive offer. Two musical and one theatrical event, designed to bring different generations together. In the traditional orchestral page of Peter and the Wolf, it will be the voice of actor Vasco Mirandola to narrate Prokof ‘ev’s tale set to music, conducted by Elisabetta Maschio leading the LaRé Orchestra. And if the art of Gek Tessaro will introduce possible and alternative worlds, the musical performance Monsieur René-Gardien de notes, with the voice and lyrics of Elisabetta Garilli and the Wind Quintet of the Steffani Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto, will offer everyone the opportunity to retrace the narration of a living and inspiring soundscape.
