Archive Sections
The institutional archives preserves all the documentation received, acquired and produced in the course of administrative and scientific activity; in this context, the series and fonds of publishing activity and study, research and experimentation particularly in the field of landscape, as well as those related to the activities of more general cultural initiatives, emerge with particular relevance. The archives of scientific activity include very varied documentation (published and/or unpublished) which, where appropriate, flows into the library, icon library and cartographic library, safeguarding their characteristics of intellectual unity.
The aggregated archives are mainly documentary fonds that significant figures from the world of culture, professions and the arts produced during their lifetime; these presences are testimony not only to the personalities who produced them but also to the recognition of the Foundation’s important function in protecting private fonds that are unlikely to find a suitable institutional location.
The complete list available in the Funds and Collections section.
The Miscellaneous section stores documentation (dossiers, unpublished documents, gray literature) whose direct and precise link to specific Foundation initiatives or projects cannot be assigned or reconstructed.
The iconographic section includes photographic documents collected and produced in the course of the Foundation’s activities. These are heterogeneous but mostly contemporary materials: photographic campaigns conducted on the places traversed by the courses and workshops and on the sites that won the International Carlo Scarpa Prize for Gardens, images published in the various volumes published by the Foundation, iconographic apparatuses related to ongoing research, and reproductions of documents not available in the original.
The section includes bibliographic and/or documentary fonds of different nature and origin, acquired by the Foundation in various capacities or deposited here.
These are mainly archives or collections from institutions or produced and collected by individuals in the course of their professional activity, or as a result of specific collecting, study or research interests. All fonds are preserved and available for consultation in the relevant areas of the Documentation Center, as specified for each and according to the relevant regulations.
