Lionello Puppi’s text Esiste – insomma – il giardino? is based on the final conference (held on 7 February 2004) of the first edition of the International Landscape Study Days, The garden in our time and in our world, which were dedicated to him and organized by Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche (Treviso, 6-7 February 2004).

It was first published in the Foundation’s website under the same title as the Study Days and subsequently included in the Bollettino della Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche, 4, 2007 (Rapporto di attività 1987-2007, edited by Domenico Luciani and Patrizia Boschiero), pp. 325-336.

The new publication also includes a brief introductory text by Carmen Añón titled Per Lionello (pp. 5-9) and two drawings by Sven-Ingvar Andersson.

The book was published on the occasion of the public meeting dedicated to Lionello Puppi (1931-2018), coordinated by Stefano Mazzoni and Marco Tamaro, organized in Treviso by Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche, in the Church of San Teonisto on 23 February 2019.
