Public conference organized by the Municipal Administration of Pescocostanzo with:
Department of Agricultural, Food Production and Forestry Management Systems of the University of Florence; Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche; Italian Geographical Society.
The renewed attention for the Bosco di Sant’Antonio of Pescocostanzo, reflected over the last couple of years in the Italian national catalogue of Historic Rural Landscapes and by the 2012 International Carlo Scarpa Prize for Gardens, has opened grounds for dialogue that can bring together the crucial need to protect the natural heritage and concrete prospects of an agricultural, forestry and pastoral economy and culture that can manage that heritage.
Consideration of the enduring value of common goods and of the authority of historical rules affecting civic rights and customs may lead to innovative forms of communal responsibility for the care of such places.
