The concert season organised as part of the Early music at casa Cozzi project will be inaugurated on Saturday, January 28th at 9pm with the celebrated and award-winning Swedish lutenist Jakob Lindberg, who will revisit the pages written by two masters of baroque music, Sylvius Leopold Weiss and Johann Sebastian Bach, where the lute takes centre stage in intense and important compositions, almost “open works” ahead of their time.
Thanks to his soloist live performances, Jakob Lindberg has gained fame as one of the finest lute players in the world today; he has performed recitals from Tokyo to Beijing in the East to San Francisco and Mexico City in the West. He has recorded a number of CDs for the BIS record company, including many world première recordings.
He plays a 1599 original Sixtus Rauwolf lute, the only one of its kind in the world, which required a restoration lasting about 12 years.
The public will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the musician’s repertoire in the teaching concert presented by Stefano Trevisi, scheduled for Tuesday, January 24th at 6:30pm.
